A couple weeks ago, Kia revealed the 2017 Sportage’s more dynamic, fighter-jet-inspired exterior. Now, the brand is unveiling more details as a teaser ahead of the vehicle’s Frankfurt International Motor Show debut. The 2017 Sportage interior has been redesigned for the sake of both spaciousness and luxury.
The redesigned interior images feature contrasting white stitching on the black leather seats and steering wheel. The wheel itself is flat-bottomed and heated, the seats can be heated or cooled, and the Sportage has several rows of climate control. The new dashboard is made to look more upscale and luxurious. The tech is up-to-date with the infotainment system that seems to be becoming standard with most modern vehicles, and safety features include a new autonomous emergency braking system.
The cabin also is improved over the outgoing model in terms of being quieter and roomier. The wheelbase has been stretched by 1.18”, allowing a bit of extra leg space for everyone in the vehicle. The dashboard is more insulated and the doors soundproofed.
The 2017 Sportage interior will feature more high-quality materials and paves the way for Kia’s venture into more upscale vehicles and design. Kia has referred to the next-generation Sportage’s interior as being one of the more significant improvements over last year’s model.
