For the past 10 years, the infotainment system from Kia was known as UVO link. The UVO eServices subscription-free services allowed drivers to make hands-free calls, navigate to destinations, and stream music from their smartphones. Now, Kia has introduced an updated version of this system and has given it a new name: Kia Connect.
“As Kia shifts to electrification, in-car connectivity is a core pillar of the brand,” said Sean Yoon, president & CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “To that end, Kia Connect will deliver a world-class customer experience through an array of features that enhance vehicle connectivity, functionality, and user control.”
According to Kia, the upgraded infotainment tech is available on at least one configuration of every 2022 Kia model. One of the new features is Apple or Android smartwatch and smartphone compatibility via the Kia Access app. This lets you use these devices to remotely control your Kia for things like locking and unlocking the doors or setting the climate controls in the cabin. You’ll also be able to integrate your personal calendar into the navigation system with Kia Connect, allowing you to see upcoming appointments as you’re driving from Point A to Point B.
Previously existing features that are available on the new Kia Connect system include Enhanced Voice Assist, Last Mile Navigation, Connected Weather, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, Smart Speaker Integration, On-Demand Find My Car with Surround View Monitor, and 911 Connect and Enhanced Roadside Assist.
All updates for Kia Connect will now occur via over-the-air technology rather than the Kia Owner’s Portal. To learn more about Kia Connect, contact our team at Gossett Kia South in Memphis, Tennessee.
