Kia To Debut New Logo Next Year

In keeping with its plan to expand its electric offerings, Kia Motors plans to also launch a new logo in 2021. The rebranding push is called Plan S and will include at least eleven new electric vehicles by 2025.
Shift to Electric
The S in Plan S stands for Shift and represents Kia’s desire to expand into the electric market more forcefully. The company is planning to spend $25 billion to develop the new line. Kia hopes that this investment will help it capture 20 percent of auto sales around the world by the year 2025 and increase that number even more through 2029.
New Electric Powertrain
The basis for Plan S is the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), a moderately priced powertrain Kia shares with Hyundai. This new platform is expected to allow Kia to offer electronic vehicles at a lower price to consumers.
New Logo
The company is also introducing a new logo on its 2021 vehicles. The circle around the letters ‘KIA’ is gone and the badging appears in a much more modern, futuristic font. The letters will now be presented in a stretched, italicized look across the vehicle. The new logo has a dynamic feel that represents the company moving confidently into the future.
