During the coronavirus pandemic, healthcare workers and others on the frontlines have been in need of personal protective equipment. Kia has been doing its part to help at this time by producing face shields at one of its manufacturing plants and donating them to healthcare workers.

Paid volunteers from Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia have been able to produce up to 200,000 face shields each month. To protect these volunteers, the manufacturing plant has implemented a number of safety measures, including spacing out workstations, providing gloves and face masks, and checking temperatures.

“Our Accelerate the Good program identifies areas where Kia can make the biggest impact and we are proud to lend our manufacturing capabilities and talents to produce face shields that will protect America’s courageous healthcare workers,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO, Kia Motors North America.

Producing face shields is just one of many actions Kia is taking through its Accelerate the Good program. Previously, Kia pledged to donate $1 million to non-profits, like StandUp for Kids and Family Promise, which help the homeless youth. Kia also donated gloves and face masks to medical facilities near its U.S. headquarters in Orange Country, California.

At Gossett Kia South, we’re proud to offer Kia models at our dealership in Memphis, Tennessee. If there’s any way we can assist you at this time, be sure to give us a call.
