Kia Motors has released its new Futuron Concept, a breath-taking AWD SUV coupe which truly looks unlike anything we’ve seen before. The Kia Futuron Concept is sleek, agile, and confidently futuristic as an all-electric vehicle.
The Futuron Concept is a lean body, at about 15 feet long and only 5 five tall; which makes sense considering the 360 degree battery is mounted low in the vehicle’s body, under the cabin floor— to provide energy to the four electric AWD wheels. The Futuron Concept has a uniquely low center of gravity, which delivers quicker response to driver inputs.
The front end flows back from the hood before it seemingly dives into the cabin itself, giving a close feeling from the driver to the road, and an unparalleled view of the road ahead. This look is part of the new “Tiger Face” initiative going on over at Kia— which includes an elegant “tiger nose” grille. With the wider face, the grille incorporates the Futoron’s sleek headlights, creating a unique “Star Cloud” design, giving the car its own identity.
Due to the all-electric powertrain and autonomous driving systems, the inside of the Kia Futuron Concept has the flexibility to look unlike anything we’ve seen before in mass produced vehicles. The front seats themselves are made out of flexible materials; the “zero-gravity” seating positions help ensure fatigue on long road trips.
